SARA BLACK, PT, DPT, CSCS, CAPP-Pelvic
A Richmond native, Sara attended East Carolina University as an NCAA Division I swimmer. She received a B.S. in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Business Administration before working for several years as a certified personal trainer and licensed massage therapist. After deciding to pursue a career in physical therapy, Sara received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Lynchburg University where she developed a passion for working with patients experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction, pregnancy-related concerns, and postpartum musculoskeletal issues.
Now an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy, she focuses solely on pelvic health dysfunction and related orthopedic concerns. Sara has completed all CAPP-Pelvic courses hosted by the Academy and enjoys treating complex pelvic pain and pelvic floor dysfunction, sexual dysfunction, and obstetric and postpartum populations. She believes in educating patients and empowering them to become active participants in their care.
In her free time, Sara participates in triathlons, running races, hiking, backpacking, and other outdoor activities. She enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her dogs Frankie and Chola.
